On June 4, as part of the 29th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF), the Russian-Thai Business Council (RTBC) held its first-ever presentation of the Council and its new business hub, RTBC Club. The event took place in the Roscongress International networking area, where RTBC served as an official partner this year.
The Executive Director of RTBC, Vladimir Kovalev, introduced the Council and outlined its key areas of activity. Today, RTBC brings together 55 companies representing major sectors of the economy. The Council promotes business development, strengthens ties between entrepreneurs from Russia and Thailand, identifies investment opportunities, and supports promising projects across various industries. RTBC also carries out systematic work to identify and eliminate non-tariff trade barriers, simplify trade procedures, and reduce administrative burdens on businesses.
In addition, RTBC utilizes a wide range of mechanisms to engage with the business community. These include project consulting, supplier sourcing, maintaining a registry of investment projects and identifying potential investors, legal support, product certification, business partner matching, cooperation with government authorities and business associations and participation in financing selected projects. This year, RTBC also plans to launch a Russian-Thai Trade Platform, aimed at facilitating bilateral trade.
“Cooperation between Russia and Thailand is developing at a dynamic pace. We are working to diversify trade and investment by creating practical tools for implementing joint projects. One such initiative is the launch of the Russian-Thai Trade Platform. As part of this effort, we plan to establish a dedicated export pavilion in Thailand, assist Russian and Thai companies with product certification, and provide foreign trade participants with information on technical barriers while helping identify ways to overcome them,” said Vladimir Kovalev.
RTBC will also soon launch another new initiative: RTBC Club, a business community and networking space designed for ambitious individuals. The club will bring together business owners, innovative and technology-driven entrepreneurs, and leaders from both the public and private sectors.
RTBC Club will be located in the heart of Moscow at Sadovnicheskaya Embankment, 7. Members will have access to infrastructure tailored for business events, as well as a vibrant program of activities. Facilities will include a conference hall for press conferences, presentations, and lectures, open networking areas, private workstations, and meeting rooms.
Members will also be able to attend lectures on entrepreneurship, business psychology, and the arts, participate in Thai cultural evenings, and enjoy culinary and wine-tasting events.
The official opening of RTBC Club is scheduled for July–August 2026.
