The Russian-Thai Business Council (RTBC) participated in the Board Meeting of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation

On 15 June, the Board of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (CCI RF), chaired by its President, Sergey Katyrin, convened to discuss the role of Russia’s chamber system and business councils in strengthening business cooperation with Asian countries.

Ilya Nesterov, Director of the Department of External Relations of the CCI RF, presented an overview of the Chamber’s activities in Asia. He noted that 22 bilateral business councils are currently engaged in cooperation with the region. Five of these councils work with countries in Central Asia, while seventeen focus on South, East, and Southeast Asia. In addition, the CCI RF maintains representative offices in several Asian countries. In Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, India, Nepal, and Mongolia, honorary representatives also contribute to the development of business ties between Russian and foreign entrepreneurs.

Vladimir Kovalev, Executive Director of the RTBC, also addressed the Board meeting. He shared the Council’s experience operating in the Southeast Asian market and outlined specific mechanisms for promoting Russian products in Thailand.

"The Russian-Thai Business Council is currently undertaking extensive efforts to create the most favorable conditions for businesses in both countries. One of the key priorities is reducing non-tariff trade barriers by simplifying product certification and standardization procedures. Another major project currently under implementation is the Russian Export Pavilion in Thailand, which will provide new opportunities for promoting Russian products in both the B2C and B2B segments," said Vladimir Kovalev.

In addition, the RTBC Executive Director announced the 2nd Russia–Thailand Investment Forum, which will take place in Bangkok in October 2026.
